WHERE I STAND
Lower Everyday Costs

Easing the financial burden on hard-working families across the district.

-
Working families in District 17 are squeezed by rising housing costs, grocery bills, insurance premiums, and child care costs, while wages stay flat. Corrine has lived inside this crisis. She knows the pressure at the kitchen table.
-
Corrine supports tax relief targeted at working families, not blanket cuts that favor the highest earners.
-
Strengthen the public services that families rely on, schools, libraries, and emergency services, so households don't pay twice for what their taxes should already cover.

Affordable Child Care

Fighting for access to high-quality, sustainable child care that supports working parents.

-
Corrine ran a 5-Star family child care small business for nearly two decades, including caring for children with special needs. This is her lane, and she has the receipts.
-
Wisconsin needs sustainable funding for child care providers so families can find and afford care and providers can afford to stay open.
-
In 2020, she co-founded Wisconsin Early Childhood Action Needed (WECAN), which has grown to more than 2500 providers, parents, and community members. The mission is to inform and empower people to engage in the political process.
-
Corrine has testified before the U.S. House Small Business Committee on child care policy and the realities facing rural providers.

Fully Fund Public Schools

Ensuring our rural schools have the resources to properly support students and educators.

-
If elected, Corrine would be the only member of the Wisconsin State Senate with a Bachelor's degree in education.
-
She served as an elected New Glarus School Board member and helped guide her district through complex budget decisions, including defeating a two-term incumbent to earn the seat.
-
Fully fund special education services so every student gets the support they deserve.
-
Reverse the trend of rural school closures that hollow out our communities.

Protect Land and Water

Preserving Wisconsin's beautiful natural resources and public lands for future generations through stewardship.

-
Reauthorize the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund, the state's primary tool for protecting public lands, hunting grounds, and waterways.
-
District 17 sits in the Driftless Area, with rivers, trails, sportsmen's clubs, and family farms that need defending from short-sighted development.
-
Hold polluters accountable and protect drinking water for rural communities.

Support Rural Small Business

Empowering local businesses that form the backbone of our rural economy.

-
Corrine ran her own small business for nearly two decades. She knows the inability to access capitol, the struggle to offer the wages and benefits staff deserves, and higher costs due to the smaller scale of operations impacts rural small businesses ability to thrive.
-
Support workforce training and apprenticeship programs so small businesses in District 17 have the skilled workers they need to grow.
-
Reverse policies that favor out-of-state corporations over local Wisconsin businesses.
